Siamese ~ Thai ~ Wichien-Maat

Siamese - what more can I say? My name is Amy.  I wanted to write this section so you could have a window peek into my world, and get a chance to understand my philosophy and reasoning behind breeding Siamese.  Also, because many of my Siamese kitten clients never have the opportunity to visit with me in person, I hope this gives you more of a personal introduction into Evinea Cattery and our Siamese family.

First.  I am a mom of four children, Nai (21), Justin (16), Jessica (14) and Cameron (7).  I am a wife of 17 years to my wonderful Air Force husband, who is my best friend.  I work as a Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, and also a psychology graduate student working on my Ph.D.  Together my family lives with a couple of the most ADORABLE loving cats to grace the earth: Sophia, Beringer, Eärwen, and Riesling.  While most people have a specific image of what a breeder entails I can assure you that I know several other professionals (MD's, Lawyers ect.) who are equally passionate about this hobby, and are as fascinated with the science as I am.

We don't have a cattery as the name implies, in fact, we don't even have cages.  We have a loving family home were our Siamese allow us to live.  I preplans all of our litters, and only for specific reasons.  I try to breed litters that coincide with the fall and winter months, but on occasion I may decide to venture outside of those rules. When we breed Siamese, each reason is unique.  This is a difficult hobby that has taken me a couple of years to really coordinate within my family setting.  I am lucky that none of my cats spray and all of them have been well trained to use sisal cat scratching posts....well, except Sophia who came as an older Siamese, but that is OK because I love her.  I am even luckier to have the absolute BEST mentors and friends from around the world. Below you can see one of my favorite photos of several friends from around the world (USA, Germany, Italy, Holland and Finland are represented.)

I have white/cream carpet, white/cream leather sofa, hard wood and antique furniture.  Our house is very clean, and you would NEVER suspect that we even own any Siamese at all.  Most of the time our Siamese are curled up in our laps or asleep in our bed.  I take excellent care of my Siamese and think nothing of utilizing the vet for the tiniest scratch.  All of the money I receive from the sale of kittens goes right back into my hobby or sits in reserve for any unexpected health issues. I enjoy life to the fullest, and my Siamese bring a wonderful loving balance to my family.  I work very hard to find the best possible homes for each little kitten, so they too can have the same experiences of a good home as their parents.  I want to thank everyone who emails me wanting a Siamese kitten, and I hope sincerely your dreams and wishes are fulfilled.

From My Home to Yours,
Amy
